{"id":25086,"date":"2024-09-26T09:14:19","date_gmt":"2024-09-26T08:14:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/insider.fairwayfoodservice.com\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=25086"},"modified":"2024-12-17T15:55:43","modified_gmt":"2024-12-17T15:55:43","slug":"churros-with-chocolate-velvet-sauce","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/insider.thewholesalegroup.co.uk\/recipe\/churros-with-chocolate-velvet-sauce\/","title":{"rendered":"Churros with Chocolate Velvet Sauce"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tossed with cinnamon sugar, these Spanish style fried pastries are classically served for breakfast, but they make the perfect dessert paired with a milk chocolate sauce for dipping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Makes: 6<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>250g Callebaut 823<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>125ml double cream (48%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>75 ml Whole milk<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1 spoon(s) Concentrated vanilla extract<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>175g caster sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 spoon(s) ground cinnamon<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>500g plain flour<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 spoon(s) baking powder<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1\/2 spoon(s) salt<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vegetable oil<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mona Lisa Blossoms &#8211; Caramel &#8211; 2.5kg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Preparation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>1. For the Chocolate Velvet Sauce, place the callets in an oven-proof bowl and set aside<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. Heat the cream and milk until simmering and pour over the callets. Let stand for 1 minute, then whisk until smooth and stir in half the vanilla<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>3. For the Cinnamon Sugar, stir together the sugar and cinnamon until blended<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>4. For the Churros, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt then set aside<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>5. Fill the batter into a piping bag fitted with a 2cm wide star tip and set the oil in the deep fryer to 190\u02daC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>6. In batches, or to order, pipe 10 cm lengths of batter, cutting with scissors, into hot oil for 2 to 5 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>7. Drain on paper towels while still hot, toss churros with Cinnamon Sugar until coated&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. For each serving, serve 3-4 churros and serve with 25ml Chocolate Velvet Sauce.
