{"id":12782,"date":"2022-07-26T07:25:28","date_gmt":"2022-07-26T06:25:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/insider.fairwayfoodservice.com\/?post_type=recipe&#038;p=12782"},"modified":"2023-07-11T21:17:46","modified_gmt":"2023-07-11T20:17:46","slug":"veggie-packed-chow-mein","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/insider.thewholesalegroup.co.uk\/recipe\/veggie-packed-chow-mein\/","title":{"rendered":"Veggie Packed Chow Mein"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ingredients: Serves 4<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>(Option: add chicken or beef &#8211; get creative with whatever veggies you have: broccoli, mushrooms, courgettes etc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>200g dry noodles &#8211; rice or wholewheat is a good options<\/li><li>1 large red pepper, sliced<\/li><li>1 large carrot, sliced thinly &#8211; using a peeler is a good idea<\/li><li>2 spring onions, finely chopped for serving<\/li><li>100g mangetout \/ sugar snaps<\/li><li>100g bean sprouts<\/li><li>1 clove garlic, grated<\/li><li>3 tablespoons oyster sauce<\/li><li>1 tablespoon soy sauce, low salt<\/li><li>1 juice of a lime<\/li><li>\u00bd tsp honey<\/li><li>1 tbsp sesame oil<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Method:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Place the dried noodles in a heatproof bowl and add boiling water from the kettle. They will take approximately five minutes to cook. When the noodles are cooked, drain them in a sieve and rinse the noodles under cold water &#8211; set aside.<\/li><li>In a large pan or wok, over a medium heat, add the sesame oil then add the garlic.<\/li><li>Fry for a couple of minutes then add in your chopped veggies, apart from the spring onions &#8211; make sure the carrot is thin so that it cooks fast &#8211; stir occasionally for 5 minutes until tender.<\/li><li>Combine the ingredients for the sauce in a separate bowl &#8211;&nbsp; add more soy sauce or honey to your liking.<\/li><li>Once veggies are cooked, add the noodles and the sauce, combine well.<\/li><li>Serve with chopped spring onion and if you wish some roasted, chopped peanuts.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients: Serves 4 (Option: add chicken or beef &#8211;
