{"id":11179,"date":"2022-04-28T14:17:04","date_gmt":"2022-04-28T13:17:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/insider.fairwayfoodservice.com\/?p=11179"},"modified":"2023-07-02T06:22:54","modified_gmt":"2023-07-02T05:22:54","slug":"creamy-kale-bacon-colcannon","status":"publish","type":"recipe","link":"https:\/\/insider.thewholesalegroup.co.uk\/recipe\/creamy-kale-bacon-colcannon\/","title":{"rendered":"Creamy Kale &#038; Bacon Colcannon"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">INGREDIENTS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Serves 6-8<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>6 large russet potatoes (or similar), peeled and boiled<\/li><li>6 spring onions, chopped finely<\/li><li>120ml milk (you could use cream if you want to make it more rich and indulgent)<\/li><li>8oz kale, chopped and steamed<\/li><li>4 tbsp butter<\/li><li>4 strips bacon, fried until crisp<\/li><li>1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:45px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">METHOD<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>In a pan, simmer on low heat the milk or cream with the spring onions, and seasoning. &nbsp; Bring the mixture to a boil then add the chopped, steamed kale, and 2 tbsp of butter.<\/li><li>Add the milk mixture to the pan with your already cooked potatoes and beat until smooth, with no lumps.<\/li><li>Fold through the crispy bacon, crumbled into pieces, saving a little for the top.<\/li><li>Serve with fresh parsley, an extra bit of butter, and some bacon.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You don\u2019t need to paint the walls with shamrocks but there are a few things you can do to bring a little Irish charm to your restaurant or cafe.
